Difference Between Heated and Non-Heated Charge PortsUpdated 8 months ago
Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y vehicles have seen various upgrades over the years, including changes to the charge port design. One significant difference is whether the charge port is heated or non-heated. Knowing which version your Tesla has can be important, especially in colder climates where a heated charge port can prevent issues like frozen charging cables.
How to Identify Your Charge Port
To determine whether your Tesla is equipped with a heated or non-heated charge port, simply check the position of the T logo indicator on the charge port door:
Non-Heated (2017-2020):
If the T logo indicator is centered with the hinge, your vehicle has a non-heated charge port.Heated (2020-Present):
If the T logo indicator is off-centered with the hinge, your vehicle is equipped with a heated charge port.
